It is typical of Oxford to start the new year in autumn - and here we are, a new year. I had, frankly, thought that first-week anarchy involving luggage and settling in and such was an experience belonging exclusively to both my past and my future but certainly not to the present; well, so much for certainties.
But still, one could say that to have survived is an accomplishment in its own right; my commendations to all and sundry for still being here, then! Now that the rhythm of routine contained within close quarters has began asserting itself, doubtlessly this would all become second nature in no time.
And now, to make my excuses as I sign off: much as I abhor feeding into the (thankfully) rapidly disintegrating damsel-in-distress archetype, this ethernet cable is currently maintaining a precarious chokehold on my laptop, my legs, and certain volumes of Spinoza. Ta.
